w .-' \it y. g} .. r ‘-\ Sl NGLES It's Great When We're Together: Finley Quaye (Sony) One of the strongest tracks off Quaye's debut album, out with a fairly handy funked up Fun Lovin‘ Criminals remix. Dreem Teem: The Theme (Deconstruction) The Dreem Teem are new signings to Deconstruction. This track was a large tune in Ibiza this summer and it's easy to see why. Speed garage without the need for too cheesy a bass line. Love it.

Three In One: Soul Freak (towsense) Nifty progressive house builder on the A—side with dreamy, wafty epic intro and thumping bass once it gets started. Flip it over for the harder, more caustic double A hip grinder with top Lolleatta Holloway sounding vocals.

BT: Love Peace and Grease (Perfecto) Bit of overkill on the mail-out front: three records with eight different mixes. Mantronik mix gets the biggest thumbs up in a retro electro style. Calms BT down very nicely.

187 Lockdown: Gunman (Eastwest) Original mix and no messing about. Fat rumbling bass, gun samples, ragga toasting and a cheeky little plinky plonky sound not unlike Sparky and his magic piano.

A Love Supreme: Ballistic Brothers (Soundboy Entertainment)

Ashley Beedle shows his class on this eight-minute long retake of Coltrane’s classic. Check the more up-tempo Black Science house mixes.

Versus The 905: Coco 8 The Bean (Mantra)

Low-slung urban soul from Edinburgh. The Herbaliser provide remix duties on the flip.
