Jules. Shaft, Derik and Slinky of Area 51 describe themselves as an ’underground task force‘ who have been playing around Glasgow for the last two years with their ‘future fusion of funky noise', not taking themselves too seriously and putting the fun back into clubbing. They join with Rory Beatnik from Wall of Sound at the Art School on Fri 20 Feb and also play every Thursday night at McChuils Way Out West.

Renaissance a Cream The big guns move to the Tunnel this issue. with Renaissance taking the first Saturday to bring up legendary Washington deep house duo Deep Dish. An absolutey not to be missed night. On the second Saturday. Cream move in with Alistair Whitehead and Graeme Park. The Tunnel, Sat 21 and 28 Feb.

Mish Mash After running nights in warehouses, tapas bars and more, Mish Mash secures‘a monthly residency to offer up one of the more diverse musical outings to be had in town. 0J5 Oscar, Nick Peacock plus MC Nordin fuse house, hip hop, disco, drum ‘n' bass and other quality sounds in this relatively new venue. The Basement, Sat 28 Feb and monthly.

Vinyl Frontier First outing for the VF guys this year, with resident Robin joined by both George T and Simon Sumner of Edinburgh’s Tribal Funktion, playing Glasgow as a duo for the first time and a treat for anyone who hasn’t made it east coast to feel their vibe. The night also includes rare dub groove collective Dubware upstairs. Well worth the taxi fare out from the city. but note the midnight curfew. 21 Feb guests from l.owlife/Phono/Subvert that kind of thing coming up for a bit of a live session. With the number ofSubvert T Shirts being modelled in Glasgow at the moment. it‘s bound to be rammed. Deep house to electro funk.
