BBC Scotland Press Office

Opportunities in television and radio programme publicity

Salary according to qualifications and experience.

Glasgow.

BBC Scotland is enjoying one of the busiest and most successful periods in its 75 year

history and, with the advent of digital services this year, the trend is for further growth.

As a result, new opportunities to work in the Press Office have arisen. Journalists, press officers and publicists, experienced in news and current affairs, sport, drama, entertainment and features are invited to apply.

A successful career over several years in one or more of these genres, polished writing skills, journalistic flair and excellent media contacts are essential for these posts as is the ability to work under pressure and initiate and implement promotional strategies with flair, energy and enthusiasm. Familiarity with BBC Scotland's output and an understanding of broadcasting publicity would also be useful.

We envisage that one of the News and Current Affairs postholders will deputise for the Press Office Manager and so, for this role, some management skills would be advantageous.

Further information from Mairead Ferguson, Press Office Manager on 0141-338 2485.

Please write for application form enclosing an SAE (quoting ref. 27014/1.) to Steve Ansell, BBC Scotland, Room 4143, Broadcasting House, Queen Margaret Drive, Glasgow G12 806. Application forms to be returned by February 27th.
