Converse D-Rod

Blame All Saints. Blame Jason Nevins. Blame Tupac buying the farm. Whatever the reason, hip hop is . . . well . . . hip and there’s no funkier street garb than impractically baggy trousers and trainers the size of Puff Daddy’s bank balance. With this in mind, Converse is launching a new basketball shoe, the D-Rod a cool black and red number specially designed for b-ball star, Dennis Rodman. The company pimps its new sneaker at the NBA Jam 2000, a free event in Glasgow, where you can slam- dunk the day away.

NBA Jam 2000 is at George Square, Glasgow, Sun 72 Jul, noon. The D-Rod is available from all good sports stores, f 7 9. 99.

Coolio

He may look like a tarantula died on his head, but you should take Coolio seriously. One of hip hop’s biggest names, he notched up 4 million sales of the crossover single 'Gangsta’s Paradise', following this success up with a hit album, My Soul and the single ’C U When U Get There’. Check him out on his Scottish dates.
