The List is looking for someone bright, able and enthusiastic to join our Sales & Marketing team in October. Applicants should have an interest in the arts, entertainment and media, a confident telephone manner and a full driving licence. Previous relevant sales, marketing and/or advertising experience is also an advantage.

We are offering an attractive salary package including a bonus scheme.

The successful candidate may be based in either our Glasgow or Edinburgh office.

EDITOR

We are looking for an experienced Editor to take charge of The List’s Eating & Drinking Giiide 7999. This Will be the 6th edition of the respected and best-selling guide to over 700 restaurants, bistros, cafes and bars in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The Editor Will be responsible for planning, commissioning and managing the work of a team of researchers and reViewers; obtaining photographs; sub-editing copy; and helping our production department to prepare finished pages

for the printers.

The Editor Will be appomted to work on a part-time freelance basis for six months from October 98 to March 99.

Applicants should have preVious experience of reVieWing restaurants 0r writing on food/cookery and should be able to demonstrate good administrative and editorial skills. Please apply in writing With CV by Monday 28 September to:

ASSISTANT to the RETAIL MANAGER

The National Galleries of Scotland operates three permanent gallery shops and various temporary ticket and sales areas servicing a busy exhibition programme. Responsibilities will include managing a computerised accounts system, organising stall rotas, dealing with customer enquiries and liaising with printers and suppliers.

A creative forward thinker with an interest in specialist shops, you will have a reasonable knowledge of history of art and excellent communication and admmisuaUOn skills. You will also deputise for the Retail Manager and assist with buying and staff training.

PRESS & INFORMATION ASSISTANT

Working in this busy department you will be responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support with enthusiasm and initiative. Strong organisational and computer skills are essential together with a friendly and outgoing manner. The ideal candidate will have a background in public relations, media or similar environment.

Salary for both posts will be in the region of £9,600 - £11,000
