DANCE ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

(one Year Commission) Fee £14,850

Aberdeen City Council wish to commission a Dance Artist in Residence to work with Northfieid Area Schools Group to work alongside teaching staff and students to develop and enrich dance and dance-based projects within the school curriculum. The Dance Artist will plan and deliver dance workshops for a variety of client groups with differing abilities. A dance graduate with at least two years professional dance experience in community/education settings, combined with a sound knowledge and appreciation of the Scottish Education system, particularly Expressive Arts is required. ‘M‘LANARK ROAD YOUTH PROJECT COMMUNITY ARTS WORKER

Lanark Road Youth Project recently celebrated a National Lotteries Charities Board award that will enable us to employ a Community Arts Worker part- time at 25 hours per week at £10.41 per hour. This is a temporary post for a period of 3 years.

The post holder will join a small but committed staff team and will have specific responsibility to make contact with young people in Balerno. Currie. Baberton and Juniper Green and to assist them to identify and develop a range of creative opportunities in the arts and the media.

Experience in project development with young people is essential. as is extensive experience of a broad range of arts-based disciplines.

A relevant arts qualification would be an advantage.
