I Hi Karate at the Glasgow School of Art (upstairs). lOpm—2ain. £l. Neil McMillan and Andrew Divine‘s weekly night. one of the finest funk breakbeat nights in the country. It may be easiest to describe what they do as big beat. but really it‘s a staggering combination of hip h0p. soul. funk. electro. jump-up. ragga and reggae. Top stuff.

I Loveshack at Fury Murry‘s. 10.30pm—3. 15am. £5 (£3). Fine indie. house and disco sounds downstairs with chemical beats (Chem Bros. David Holmes. Big Beat etc) upstairs. Drinks promos.

I Psy-phi at The Sub Club. llpm—3am. £4 (£3); guest nights are £6. Phar Out's Paul Cawley embarking on a voyage of hip hop. drum (8'; bass and generally music with the funk. One of the best of its types in Scotland.

I Pusher 13 at The 13th Note (ground floor). llpm—3am. £2. Weekly night from Hatch of Knucklehead (Art School. Sats) giving up electro fttitk beats to a crowd following on frotn his Variety pub gig.

I Radar at The Cross Bar. Spin—midnight. Free. Progressive dub and techno with an eclectic mix of ‘beats. blee )S and squeaks'.

Triumph Graeme Park returns to The Tunnel main room for more of a garagey set than the place is used to, but digging it all the same. The Tunnel, Sat 23 Ian.

Pure/Manga Massive Pure event in seven arches with Dave Clarke and DJ Rush (live) spinning hard, Twitch, Brainstorm, Dribbler and The Bill grooving it up a bit more and drum & bass Manga taking the far arch to celebrate their third birthday with Andy C, G-Mac, Kemal, DJ Kid, MC Feelman and VJ Adan.
