The British Council creates opportunity for people world-wide. It's purpose is to enhance the reputation of the UK in the world as a valued partner.

The International Cultural Desk, a partnership project with the Scottish Arts Council, plays an important role within our organisation by providing information and advice to help the Scottish arts community to operate effectively in an international context.

Ifyou’re a friendly and helpful person with strong organisational and communication skills, you could help us achieve these objectives.

Firstly, you'll assist the Arts work of the British Council Scotland by arranging cultural visits for overseas professionals, organising meetings for the Arts Manager and keeping overseas omces informed of the latest developments in the Scottish Arts. At the same time, you’ll help with the enquiry service of the International Cultural Desk whilst contributing towards the maintenance of its information and administrative systems.

Numeracy, a good telephone manner and familiarity with Windows-based WP and database packages are important qualities, with an active interest in the Arts an additional advantage.
