The International Cultural Desk, a partnership project with the Scottish Arts Council, plays an important role within our organisation by providing information and advice to help the Scottish arts community to operate effectively in an international context.

Ifyou’re a friendly and helpful person with strong organisational and communication skills, you could help us achieve these objectives.

Firstly, you'll assist the Arts work of the British Council Scotland by arranging cultural visits for overseas professionals, organising meetings for the Arts Manager and keeping overseas omces informed of the latest developments in the Scottish Arts. At the same time, you’ll help with the enquiry service of the International Cultural Desk whilst contributing towards the maintenance of its information and administrative systems.

Numeracy, a good telephone manner and familiarity with Windows-based WP and database packages are important qualities, with an active interest in the Arts an additional advantage.

I Lothian Victim Support (LVSS) is an independent voluntary organisation who last year provided direct assistance to over I000 victims of crime in the Lothians. LVSS is cur- rently seeking volunteers to assist in developing and deliv- ering all aspects of its work including direct support to vic- tims. telephone support. out- reach. support at court. and fundraising. In return for two or three hours per week LVSS supplies full training. expenses. references. and professional support.
