THE UK'S BIGGEST modelling competition is underway for its seventh year. Highland Spring Originals, sponsored by Highland Spring and the international modelling agency Storm (who have Kate Moss on their books). are searching for the new faces for the next millennium. Storm's top bookers will carefully sift through the entries and select between 25 and 30 nominees for each of the regional heats.

'You may not think that you're gorgeous, but you may be more photogenic than you know,’ says Sarah Doukas from Storm. ‘Remember that there are hundreds of different looks at Storm, and we’re looking for new faces all the time. This year the look for the millennium is quite space age very 2001 - and we're getting more glamorous too.’

The winners will receive a one-year modelling contract with Storm plus £1000 from Highland Spring and a year’s supply of their natural mineral water. Girls should be 15-21 years old and at least 5ft 8in unless still growing; boys must be at least 6ft tall and aged 17—30. Entrants should send four colour photographs two close-up head and shoulders, and two full length with name, address, phone numbers, age, height, and shoe and clothing sizes written on the back. EDINBURGH COLLEGE OF ART's Graduate Fashion Show will be held on Fri 14 May at the college's Sculpture Court. The Fashion, Textiles and Performance Costume departments merged in October 1998, and their showcase at Intervention at Glasgow's Arches venue in February wowed the crowds, proving that the union has been a huge success.
