Quite simply one of the best clubs in the capital.

So once a month you cart still strut down to the Cowgate in your trendiest pieces of fabric immodestly covering your. er. bits and ‘ave it to some of the best hardbag and techno that Peter James and co can unleash. This gay club is one of the best of its kind anywhere. Period.

The leading exponent of roots reggae. expect a night of quality and spiritual dub. Apparently the folk in Edinburgh impressed him so much. he couldn’t wait to come back. Note the earlier opening time —- if you want to catch this gig. get there very early or you will miss out.

Deep and funky house is the order of the day and Neil McDonald and Ben McCabe are the men who supply it with style.

I Reconstruction at The Vaults. 10pm—3am. £5. 15 May. Monthly. Very popular Reading club Checkpoint Charlie bring up some of their finest. Well known for playing the very best of genres. Check out Matt Carter (Universe). Rad Rice (Crack Squad) and Nevel Watson (aka Protein Boy) playing funky techno in the main room; Sean Pearson in the bar playing house and Renegade and MC P-Fine iii the back room with drum & bass.

Manchester- based hip hop act Krispy will be celebrating the release of their new album Straight F mm Cuttltlry on the prestigious Bomb Records label (USA). Definitely one of the UK’s leading hip hop acts. Krispy have been around for nigh on five years but this release will put them bang on the map. Joined as always by Gino. Lyley. Ruftone and The Dynamic Duo.

One of the disco legends at Studio 54 in New York back in the day. this is your chance to witness the man in the flesh. Basement Jaxx and The Bomb amongst others. it makes you wonder what they put in the water across The Atlantic. He joins Mikey Stirton (Substance) who is guesting in The Cooler. They join George T.
