We are seeking applications from people wishing to join a pool a staff at The Usher Hall, called to work as and when required during the Edinburgh International Festival 1999.

Sales Supervisors R/99/381-383- (3 posts) - £4.25 per hour

You must be able to supervise the public, and the service provided by staff selling a range of goods. Previous cash handling and reconciliation duties, and supervisory experience is therefore essential.

Bars Team Leader R/99/384-387 - (4 posts) - £4.25 per hour

You will be responsible for the supervision of staff at one of the 3 bars and must ensure a high standard of service. You must have previous supervisory experience preferably in a customer orientated environment and be able to undertake stocktaking duties. You require accurate cash handling skills and all round bar knowledge.

Floor Supervisors R/99/388-396 - (9 posts) - £3.95 per hour

You will be responsible for the supervision of staff and must ensure a high standard of service. you must have significant experience in the supervision of staff, and experience of dealing with emergencies and health and safety issues. A first aid certificate would be desirable.

Front of House Staff R/99/397 - £3.60 per hour

The successful candidates will be expected to undertake a range of duties from stewarding to sales and bar work therefore must be able to work effectively as part of a team. Previous experience of working with the public and the ability to handle cash accurately would be desirable.

Bar Supervisor - Ref R/99/408 £5.50 per hour - 5 weeks duration

Location: Usher Hall

The Usher Hall requires a Bar Supervisor to work over the period of the Edinburgh International Festival 1999. The Usher Hall has a bar on each of its 3 levels and the successful candidate will supervise the overall bar service provision and ensure a high standard of customer care.

You must have significant experience of working in a bar/club environment and supervisory experience. You will be well organised and a good communicator with the ability to control stock and keep records. The ability to train staff to the required standard and a flexible approach to operational duties is essential.

Seasonal Hall Attendant (10 posts) - Ref: R/99/398-407 MW3 £4.20 per hour

Location: Ushér Hall,

We are looking for applications from people wishing to work at the Usher Hall during the Edinburgh International Festival 1999 - from 12 July to 10 September 1999.

The main duties are cleaning and setting/clearing up the venue as required, maintaining security of the premises and assisting customers and members of the public.

Previous experience of dealing with public is essential as is the ability to communicate effectively, understand written _ instructions and work underpressure in an organised manner. You must be able to lift and move heavy equipment. The successful candidates;w_ili also have an awareness of the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy and a commitment to providing a. high level of customer care.

For Seasonal Hall Attendant posts, you must be available to work flexibly five days out of seven, starting as early as 08.00am and finishing as late as 11.30pm.
