An extra special night at this deep house night - Harri and Domenic guest in the main room with their superfine funky house magic. Harri’s been over a bit of late . . . well, a couple of times but it’s definitely something that should be encouraged. Yogi Haughton maintains control through the back with his cool soul and disco tunes. Get down there for what will be their last night at The Honeycomb.

Expect a night of great progressive house as he joins notable residents Martin Kay and Gav Grant in the main room.

I Venus at Studio 24. 10.30pm—5am. £5. 3 Sep. Monthly. House residents Billie & Gillie play uplifting house and classic anthems to an up for it crowd.

I What It Is at City Cafe 2. 9.30pm-lam. Free. 3 Sep. Fortnightly. Bob Cairns throws down a mixture of jazz funk, old and new soul right through to Latin grooves and stomps firmly all over it.

I Atomic Baby at The Honeycomb. Midnight—5am. £10 (£8). 28 Aug. Fortnightly. Batten down the windows and lock up your medicine cabinets - it’s their second birthday. Colin Tevendalc (The Tunnel) will be coming over especially to lay on his Euro trance anthems while Michael Kilkic and Zammo will go a little chicken oriental in the main room and Gareth Sommerville will be doing the smooth and funky US garage thing through the back. It all adds up to total mayhem which will no doubt drag on for a good week or two. Our bet’s that there will be at least one of the Uber Disko boys in a gutter (probably somewhere in a French ghetto) by the end of it all. Any other wagers to the usual address.

I Big Beat at Cafe Graffiti. Midnight-3am. £7. 28 Aug. Monthly. Last date before the September break for the Big Beat family. Tonight you can catch the El Cometa All Stars on stage joined by guest DJs Gip and E2 from the Dig! Family (Leeds). These DJs are arguably among the best jazz DJs around (and thus faves of Big Beat). It all adds up to a very special night of dancefloor jazz, Latin and the like. Mark your diaries for 9 Oct (yes, that far away) - The Blackbyrds will be the superspecial guests. I Bohemia at Eden. lOpm-Sam. £8 (£6). Weekly. Craig Burger Queen’s new night at this refurbished venue kicks off with the help of rotating residents Gareth Sommerville and Martin Valentine. A night of glammed up house and American garage for the beautiful people in a spanking new venue, no doubt. Expect loads of sideline antics from the superfriendly staff, on hand to cater for your every whim . . . well, nearly every whim.
