Colours settle into their monthly residency at The Potterrow and invite the one and only John Digweed (cue trumpets et al) along to get the post-summer ball rolling. For those that can’t make the Colours bash at Room At The Top where John’s also playing, this will be a great alternative.

I Colours Dance Festival at Room At The Top. 9pm-4am. £18 stbf. 4 Sep only. One of the biggest bashes in a long while with an enormous line up of house, garage and Euro trance over five rooms. DJs include: John Digweed, Jimmy Van Malleghem, Danny Howells, Col Hamilton, Jeremy Healy, Allister Whitehead, K-Klass, Jon Mancini, the Constipated Monkeys, lain ‘Boney’ Clark, Martin Malone, Trevor Nelson, Yogi Haughton, Bob Jeffries, Jamie & Sid, Ferry Corsten aka System F, Michael Kilkie, Crosby and Paul Mendez. The event will be broadcast live on lTV’s Club @Vlsion On Tour and there’s room for four thousand punters. It’s gonna be huuugge.

I International Club Festival at Teviot Row. 9pm—5am. £10. 28 Aug only. Mark Moore and Dean Wilson (Golden) close the Club Festival in fine form with their house music and sideline antics. If you’re one of the few in the capital that haven’t made it down to Teviot this month, tonight is your very last chance. In the four back rooms you can enjoy: drum & bass, big beat, funk and soul and dub, soul and reggae.

I Luver at Wilkie House. 10.30pm—3am. £10 (£7). 4 Sep. Monthly. Gay/mixed. The hedonism returns, Luvely are once again in the house. It’s time to get your most sexy and outrageous threads on and hope that door whore Sheila Blige (gedit?) will see fit to let you in - make an effort or suffer her disdain. Peter James and co will be pumping out hard house and sexy techno to sweat to in the main room. Make sure you head through the back for the superb speed garage DJs who have been really hitting the n0te lately. One of the best clubs in the capital, no question.

I The Mission at Studio 24. llpm-3am. £5 (£4). 4 Sep. Fortnightly. Although we were convinced for ages that The Mission was weekly, we finally admit defeat and simply stand by the fact that it should be. Attracting a near capacity crowd most nights, this is one of Scotland’s biggest alternative clubs with three floors of rock, gothic and indie/dance which should suit just about everyone ’3 tastes.

I Monkey Funk at The Outhouse (upstairs). 10pm—3am. Free. 28 Aug only. A late entry on the clubs front, a new night from some very cool folk who fly in the face of fame and refuse to have their names printed. We can tell, however, that they are offering ‘funky feel good music and monkey madness’. Must be a banana thing, eh?

I Naughty at The Ark. 9pm—3am. £5. Weekly. Half price with flyer. A night for the office workers wanting to drink and dance to party tunes.

Free. 28 Aug. Fortnightly. Everyone’s favourite old codger (let’s see if he reads his listings) Yogi Haughton gets down to the Cafe for some soul, funk and disco action.

I Platinum at The Vaults. 10.30pm—3.30am. £10. 28 Aug only. A new night starting off with a bang with one of America’s finest Kenny Larkin, one of the early 90$ Detriot circle and good pals with Richie Hawtin, who will be dropping by with a wide selection of his favourite house and techno tunes. He will be supported by Andy McQuarie and Asam Querishi. Get down and check it out.

The last Substance in this venue (is anyone else in shock?) sees guest Patrick Smoove joining the great Craig Smith and Mikey Stirton in the main room for garage as it should be, while Bootsy and Ross Keddic do the disco and funk thing through the back. Make sure you head down and pack a hanky.
