THURSDAY 16 Edinburgh I John Fahey 8: Derek Bailey Queen’s Hall, Clerk Street, 668 2019. 8pm. An unusual pairing of two incredibly talented guitarists - Fahey’s unique blues interpretation has been dubbed ’American Primitive’ in an attempt at classification, and Bailey released a 1996 album entitled Guitar; Drum ’n’Bass, which anticipated recent developments in club land. A steaming tajine of fusion, from jazz- improv to breakbeat, picking up a healthy dose of North African rhythms along the way. The band also feature exotic strings and percussion.
