ra perform one of Czech composer Leos Janaoek’s finest works. Written in 1921, the opera features a number of powerful female roles, with Susan Chilcott playing the guilt-ridden Katya entangled in an adulterous affair, and Kathryn Harries taking on the role of the bullying mother-in-law.

Britain’s oldest opera company, Carl Rosa Opera, celebrate 125 years of musical success since their early days in the 1860’s, when Carl Rosa and Arthur Sullivan were fellow students in Liepzig.
