Andy Smith, who you might know from Portishead, returns to Edinburgh. Well known for his excellent mix of hip hop, funk and soul, the queue will be forming early for this one.

One of Sublime’s favourite residents returns to Wilkie Billy Nasty will be bringing up some of the fiercest yet strangely funky (well, you try and describe it) techno that you’re likely to hear. He will be supported by resident Kev Wright in the main room, Felix and Gary Mac through the back with their outstanding mix of electro, nu skool, house, breaks and whatever else takes their fancy. I Bohemia at Eden. 10pm—3am. £8 (£6). Weekly. Craig Burger Queen’s new night at this refurbished venue kicks off with the help of rotating residents Gareth Sommerville and Martin Valentine. A night of glammed-up house and American garage for the beautiful people in a spanking new venue, no doubt. Expect loads of sideline antics from the superfriendly staff, on hand to cater for your every whim . . . well, nearly every whim.

I Czech This Out at Pivo. 9pm—Iam. Free. Weekly. Pre-club. One of the best bars in the capital, actively encouraging the punters to go a little mental to the DJs. Neil McKay and Jay Storic (who had one of his records dropped by Danny Tenaglia at homelands, by the way) meet up for some progressive house (25 Sep) while Alan Joy gets up to most mischief in that wee booth (2 Oct).

I Disco Inferno at The Venue. 10.30pm-late. £7 non-members; £6 members; £5 fancy dress. 2 Oct. Fortnightly. You must know the drill cheesey 70$ frolicks for a mad and superfriendly crowd with men that should know better behind the decks. Still, we love it!
