OPERATIONS ASSISTANT (Up to £11,000pa)

The Hub. Edinburgh's Festival Centre. provides a year round focus for the Festival City as well as a new home for the Edinburgh International Festival. We require an additional operations assistant to assist with the day to day running of The Hub. He/she will undertake front and back of house duties. including event set-up and breakdown and general maintenance tasks.

Candidates must possess good communication skills. be physically fit and willing to work a flexible shift system. Maintenance and technical experience preferred. Driving license essential.

This full-time appointment is aimed at artists early in their career who work primarily in drawing and painting. The recipient would be required to undertake the following tasks: limited undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the School of Drawing & Painting; participation in seminars run by the School and Edinburgh Projects

(the research wing of the Faculty of Art & Design); open studio days; giving students. staff and members of the general public access to their working practice.

You will receive the following: an annual Fellowship award of £16k for a period of 18 months beginning 10th January 2000; a work studio with access to existing College equipment; an exhibition of work at the Edinburgh International Festival 2001.

No re-location costs will be met, and you would be expected to live in Edinburgh for the period of the appointment.

Residence to work in the Northfield Area Schools Cluster Group. This includes Primary, Secondary and Nursery establishments (Mainstream and Special Edu- cation Needs) to work along side teaching staff and students to develop and enrich dance and dance-based projects within the school curriculum. A dancer committed to enthusing others about the art form, who is able to plan and deliver dance workshops for a variety of client groups with differing abilities is required.
