I Ultragroove at La Belle Angele. 11pm-3am. £tbc. 25 Dec. Monthly. Four forces to be reckoned with in the capital take on La Belle. Catch residents Gareth Sommerville and Colin Cook doing the house thing, joined by Tribal Funktion’s George T and Substantial’s Craig Smith. It will no doubt be the finest house, garage and grooves that you ever heard on Christmas.

I Vegas Christmas Party at Eden. 10.30pm—3am. £8 (£6 in fancy dress). 18 Dec only. ‘It’s Christmas in Vegas and the grapevine is buzzin'. The question on everyone’s lips is who is this Santa cat and what’s his angle? Nobody sees him for a year, then he strolls in. jinglin' all the way, demanding milk and cookies.‘ You have to wonder what kind of a household the Vegas crew were brought up in, don’t you? No doubt the parties never stopped, which makes their Christmas bash an essential blow out for your diaries. It’ll be rammed with glammed up cats and kittens, having a riot to the showtunes, Latin, country and kitsch. Merry Christmas, y’all.

Moving to a Sunday night (here's a concept: club’s stick to their normal slots for an entire festive season for a change!), Luvely prepares to rock your Christmas in a truly glam and wicked style. The theme is ‘space babes’ so don your most glittery and cosmic bits of rag. baby. Jared, GP and Rich B do the hard house thing in the main room while it‘s the finest speed garage through the back with Scott G and Andy Jnr. Unmissable. I Queer Sunday at Eden. 11pm—3am. £2 before midnight; £4 after. Weekly. A new weekly gay night with an ‘unashamedly vibrant, happy, commercial gay dance music policy’ with the stunning DJ Venus upstairs while downstairs is taken over by the Torch Song Divas doing the cabaret thing. Watch out for Sheila Blige on the door be nice now.

I Red Star Presents at La Belle Angele. 8pm—1ate. £4. 26 Dec. Fortnightly. Live music with DJ support.

I Tackno at Club Mercado. 10.30pm-3am-ish. £6 (£5). 26 Dec. Monthly. It's Boxing Day Tackno and two of Edinburgh’s supergroup's are going head to head - the Cuban Brothers and 3 Piece Sweet do the kitsch DJ thing. If there‘s going to be a funny one this season, it is without question this party. Make sure you check it out. You'll thank us for it later (after the hangover wears off).

I Taste at Wilkie House. 11pm—3am. £8 (£6). Weekly. It all gets a little complicated. so you‘re going to have to read carefully (and I’ll use small words). This outstanding and most fuck off of Scottish clubs are throwing many a hedonistic bash over the next three weeks. Main room residents Fisher & Price lay on the biggest, baddest tunes on a house and hard house tip, while it’s all UK and American garage through the

back with Martin Valentine and Stuart Barrie. The ones at Wilkie are: 19 Dec which sees them joined by the Sharp Boys (Heaven), while 2 Jan is a residents' night. There is no 26 Dec date. Check listings for extra Saturday Taste dates in Edinburgh.

I Tokyo Blue at Gaia. 9pm—3am. £3 (£2). Weekly. Craig Burger Queen has a new pet project and tonight is it. He and select guests will be laying on glam and sexy house while Tim Cuban Brother will be DJing in the upstairs bar.

I 2 Darn Soulful at Walkers. 9pm—6am. £10. 2 Jan only. Keep the party going at this soul all-nighter in the West End. Four rooms will cover four decades two rooms of 605 and 705 northern soul, oldies, newies and rarities; two rooms of 705-905 soul, club classics, R&B, jazz funk and garage. The main man is the legendary Keb Darge. joined by Soul Sam, Arthur Fenn. Yogi Haughton, Craig Smith and about fifteen others that we don‘t have the space to spell out. Essential night.

I Mad Sundays at The Attic. 8pm-5am. Free entry before 11pm; £2 before 1am; £4 after. Weekly. Chart and classic disco going happily hand-in-hand with very cheap drinks promos.

I Replay at Eros/Elite 9pm-3am. £2 (£1) before 11pm; £3 (£2) before midnight; £4 (£3) after. Replay sees the hits of the 705 and 80s, er. replayed while kids (over 18s, of course) in Meltdown relax to chart and countdown anthems.
