I Club Latino at The Bongo Club. Monthly. Next date Fri 21 Apr.

I Cosmic at The Vaults. 10.30pm—3am. £5. Weekly. Cosmic’s back and make no mistake. DJs Ross Keddie and Mark Gibson playing tech to hard house in the main room while the back room turns out hip h0p, rare soul and reggae from Demon, Bertie and DJ Hambra.

I Disuko at E2K. 10.30pm-3am. £7. 7 Apr. Monthly. The launch of Disuko that everyone can go to (after last month’s invite-only do). The aim to is provide the somewhat starved Edinburgh masses with some twisted house, disco and funky vibes. Neil McDonald guests, joining residents Murray Richardson and Malks upstairs, while Babes and Frosty play funkier, hip hop sounds downstairs. See paneL

I Evol at The Liquid Room. 10.30pm—3am. £4. Weekly. The original alternative crossover club shakes off its walking stick (eight years young) and gets down to a heady mix of Public Enemy, Sonic Youth, Deec-Lite and Mogwai.

I Frogger at Bar Nego (Negociants). 8pm-3am. £3 (£2). Weekly. DJ Reaktronic squares up to the decks on his succulent froggy French legs to play some Gallic house music.

I Funk Latino at Gaia. 9pm-3am. Free before midnight; £4 after. Weekly. Funk and Latino on the main floor while upstairs goes all Salsa Con Sabor with DJ Hector, playing Latino, salsa, merengue and Latin pop.

I Gravity at Wilkie House. 10.30pm—3am. £5. 31 Mar. Monthly. Bravely taking over the weakest Fri night slot, the Gravity lot are offering Mike Shy and Jared in the main room, Keith and Chris G through the back.

I Headspin Present The Psychonauts at The Bongo Club. 10.30pm—3am. £6 (£5). 31 Mar only. Straight out of Mo’ Wax come The Psychonauts, mixing up madness on four decks with support from the Headspin residents. You’ll find Colin Millar in the main room with the boys, who will be playing a three hour set of old and new beats and breaks, with muchos scratching and sampling. If it all gets too much, head through to the back with divine Steve Austin and Dolphin Boy playing hip hop to big beat. The last time these guys guested, literally hundreds couldn’t get in, so it would be well worth getting there the day before and camping out.

I Higher Ground at La Belle Angele. llpm-3am. £6 (£5). 14 Apr. Monthly. After accidently leaving the boys out of the listings last issue (we tried to pull them forward an issue and then forgot to put them in the right one, dohl), we put our head in our hands and apologise. Probably never to be forgiven though, so we’ll move right along and let you know about their next night (again pulling it forward, but who’s counting?) After The Idjut Boys did their wonderful thing last month, residents Mr Todd and Brian Hunter will be laying on some mighty fine house and garage sounds for the supercool cats who call this their favourite club. And you should mark 12 May in your diaries as none other than Gemini, man of the moment, guests.

I HQ at the Jazz Joint. HQ has now finished.

The stars of the Sub Club will be making this weekly east coast do their home, with Domenic the week in, week out resident, and Harri, DJ 0, Ralph Lawson and George T on rotation. They’ll be playing the kind of deep and funky house that Glasgow is renowned for at this very small venue, so an atmosphere to die for shouldn’t be too hard to create.

I Noa at Noa. 10pm-3am. Free before midnight; £6 after. Weekly. Jon Flowers in the main room with garage; Paul Dixon through the back with old skool, soul and funk.

I Nomad at Wilkie House. 10.30pm-3am. £8. 14 Apr. Monthly. Jon Carter (aka Junior Cartier) has the unfortunate reputation of being somewhat of a beer monster. He disputes this, and although he’ll be meeting up with his mates (the promoters) tonight, we’ll assume that once he has unleashed a three hour set of funky, banging tech house cum eclecticism, he’ll go straight home to bed with a good book and mug of cocoa. Yeah, right. More realistically, he’ll be supported by the excellent resident DJ, Flix.

I Planet Earth at The Citrus. 10.30pm-3am. £4. Weekly. From 1976—1989, it’s all that new romantic, pop and punk stuff that made our lives so enjoyable way back when.

I Pure at The Venue. 10.30pm—3am. £7 (£5). 31 Mar. Fortnightly. Nearly into their final home straight they are aiming to finish on their tenth birthday in the summer - the Pure lot hog the decks and don’t let any guests drop by. Fair enough, as they are slamming enough in their own right without anyone else cramping their style. Head down for a very large night of techno and house action, you won’t regret it.

I Radio Babylon at La Belle Angele. 10.30pm—3am. £tbc. 7 Apr. Monthly. After a great start with David Holmes last month, the Babylon boys continue their Musical Mystery Tour (the official line) with Massive Attack’s Mushroom and some chap called Rob Rob joining the residents The Merry Pranksters, The Bill, Kelvin Bridge and Barry Jams. The bloke in drag - or ‘mistress of ceremonies’ is the brilliant Penelope Pomstar. And the music? Well, it’s a mix of old and new funky shit, some electronic stuff, and maybe some vocals as well. Nice.

I Redspin at The Wee Red Bar. Monthly. Next date 21 Apr.

I Sublime Presents at The Vaults. 10.30pm—3am. £8. 14 Apr only. Skipping to a different venue tonight, Sublime presents Adam Beyer (Drum Code, Code Red). Adam is without a doubt one of the most prominent techno producers at the moment, and just about anything he releases is immediately caned by anyone with taste; his minimal, funky techno is

quite simply superb. He’ll be supported b Idge.

I Trancelucent at The Venue. 10.30pm—3am. £5 (£4). 7 Apr. ' Fortnightly. So successful that they’ve moved into a fortnightly slot, this club continues to provide cutting edge trance with residents Pete Anderson upstairs and in The Cooler, Dave S with smooth house grooves. Carl from K-Klass guests tonight.

I Tropisam at The Venue. 11pm—3am. £5 (£4). 7 Apr. Fortnightly. Taking over from the Skyscraper slot, this new funky hard house from residents Bigger and Wiser.

I Ultragroove at La Belle Angele. 11pm—3am. £10. 31 Mar. Monthly. After last month’s ultra-successful night with Ashley Beedle, Gareth Sommerville and Colin Cook play good ol’-fashioned house music (all night long). It’s not just garage, not just disco, not just house, it’s whatever they feel makes a good tune, alright? A very Popular night, and well worth the little efi’ort it takes to wander to La Belle.

I Up! at Studio 24. 10.30pm—3am. £tbc. 31 Mar. Monthly. Moving from garage right through to hard house, Up! looks to offer a banging, good time party. Look out for the Trollettes selling life’s little essentials. Sounds naughty, that.
