I John Mayall and Peter Green Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Sauchiehall Street, 287 5511. 7.30pm. £17.50/£15.50/£13.50 plus booking fee. TWO hoary old blues legends join forces for what could be a very interesting night. Mayall has led the Bluesbreakers for decades, mentoring the young Eric Clapton, and working with Green in the 608 before the latter went on to form Fleetwood Mac and then spend 25 years as the 605 worst acid casualty. In the last few years he has made some tentative steps back into the live arena. His playing is inevitably not what it was but there should be enough goodwill in the air to kee'p'him afloat.

I e Silencers The Ferry, Clyde Place, 429 8676. 8pm. £10. The Silencers plan to release a live album which they recorded at their Celtic Connections appearance earlier this year.

I The Animalhouse, Tom McCray and Nibushi Shanghong King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, St Vincent Street, 221 5279. 8.30pm. £5 plus booking fee. The Animalhouse are the new combo formed by Mark Gardener and 1.02 Colbert of Ride. While their old mucker Andy Bell lives the high life in Oasis, these two have gone back to their noisy garage roots with a bit of soundtrack ambience thrown in for effective measure. There are also shades of Supergrass, unsurprisineg as ‘Grass producer Sam Williams is also one of the fold.
