You might know him from Portishead and you’ll definately love his mix u of all things great in music.

I Futuristica at [a Belle Angele. 10.30pm—3am. £7. 29 Apr. Fortnightly. Joseph Malik and Daryl G continue to improve Edinburgh’s Clubland with this right across the board quality music night. From hip hop and drum & bass to Afro-inspired grooves and latin moves, this is one must-have night.

I The Jazz Joint at The Jazz Joint. l()pm-3am. £5—£7. Weekly. The Groovediggaz provide the funk a la James Brown circa ‘74 (29 Apr), while 6 May sees NuSpirit (see separate entry). I Joy at Wilkie House. 10.30pm—3am. £10(£7). 29 Apr. Monthly. The outstanding and long-running gay/mixed hard house and techno club Joy deserves a big, fuck-off Mickey Mouse badge that proclaims ‘We rock’. No one can dispute Maggie and Alan’s pole position when it comes to creating a sweatbox -— even considering Wilkie’s spacious dancefloor and utter anarchy with their sets.
