partner in crime Eyebee, are behind new night Loose Joints every Thursday at The 13th Note Club, Glasgow. With a music policy which covers electro, hip hop, soul, Latin, Afro, dub, electronica and jaa, there’s not a lot out there which they won't play. The difference though is that they’ve cut the scratching/mixing part out of the equation and promise to play every to last.

Cecil Leuter: ‘Pop Electronique No.1' (Jazzman 7in) A simple bop-styled backing track with

an orgy of tones and pulses firing off on

all sides. Imagine Albert Ayler’s take on E.V.A.

Hurricane: 'Hurricane‘ (MCA Soundtracks)

The Roots, Mos Def and Common head this all-star team, going to work on this Dylan cover from the Denzel Washington film of the same name. Knock-out beats and rhymes.

Divine Styler: 'Conception Design Conception' (Mo Wax)

This dark, dirty, electro-hip hop brute is currently rockin' the spot at Clyde

Street. Dealer's choice for the anthem of

the summer.

Move A Head: ‘Drums For Maia' (Afro Art)

The two Nick’s - Peacock and Quail keep the quality high and the fuss to a

minimum on Ashley Beedle’s label. Afro-

beat and Latin-jazz mixed-up and rolled out in characteristic style, what more can you ask for?
