A responsible and dedicated team leader with excellent administrative skills is required by Scotland’s best-selling entertainment and lifestyle magazine to oversee and manage the day to day operations of this busy company. This is a new post being created at senior management level to help The List develop and expand.

EVENTS GUIDE

We are looking for someone with the ability to manage and motivate a talented young team of 30 staff, set clear objectives and targets, establish procedures and monitor performance and budgets.

The work will involve a variety of aspects but will include Personnel, Administration, Finance, Customer Service, Database systems, Contracts and Legal issues as well as some Project Management.

Previous relevant experience is essential and an interest and awareness of the cultural scene in Scotland would be an advantage.

The List is looking for freelance writers in Glasgow and Edinburgh to contribute to the next edition of our Eating and Drinking Guide. To be published in April 2001, this will be the 8th edition of The List's widely respected and best-selling guide to more than 750 restaurants, bistros, cafes and bars.

You Will be expected to eat in and write reviews of restaurants in one section of this best-selling, annual Guide. In addition, you will conduct detailed research for our database on each venue. The work Will be concentrated in January and February of next year and will involve meeting tight deadlines.

All applicants should be familiar wrth the restaurant scene in Glasgow or Edinburgh, be able to write knowledgeably on food and drink, and have a flair for sharp, concise prose. Previous experience of writing on food is ideal but not essential.
