F o u r p lay
in their first year alone, quality house night Ultragroove has been graced with appearances from
Miguel Migs, Ashley Beedle and Joey Negro. Their first birthday party will
however make a departure from foreign forces and instead celebrate the talents of the club’s local residenc Gareth Sommerville, Colin Cook and Mikey Stirton. In preparation, Mr Cook takes the time to show us what: in store.
.6, ' ;:
Dennis Ferrer: ‘Soul Collectives Vol. 1' (Large) 'Ghetto Discotek Building' (Madhouse)
Two EPs — all tracks with necessary soul and raw feeling from Kerri Chandler‘s sidekick.
Home 8- Garden: ‘An Invitation' (Central Park)
Second release on a promising new label, featuring a Derrick Carter vocal mix and a slammin' percussive mix.
Atlantis feat. Naomi Nsombi: 'No More Excuses' (Giant Step)
Meandering vocal beauty courtesy of Ron Trent and friends. A beatless instrumental and an afro-percussive mix make this essential.
DON'7 Px/TEQS WITH MY MA
Lucy Pearl: ‘Don't Mess With My Man' (Virgin)
Mood II swing dub with grinding beats and bullet hard bassline — tougher than a Souness tackle.
