Geoff Montford and John Thompson supply the student classics and party anthems.

I Rumble at The Garage. I lpm-3am. £4 (£2). Weekly. Absolutely crackers student night. stuffed to the gunnels every time with kids sharking to the sounds of chart hits. indie favourites and low-brow house.

I Shag Tag at Privilege. l lpm—3am. £4 (£3). Weekly. Insanely successful night based on a complex numerical flirting system: everyone gets a number upon entry. then. if someone catches your eye. you write their number on the board next to your own. with the idea being that they then rush up to you and get biz-ay. Music-wise. it's commercial house and trance from Sexy Steve and Kinky Kenny.

I Skint at The Cathouse. l lpm—3am. £4 (£2). Weekly. Funk. punk and party pap with plenty of drinks promos.

I Wired at Destiny. l()pm-3am. £2 before 1 lpm; £3 after. Weekly. Casual night at the wrought-iron exhibition-cum-club with a dancier music policy. This is the only time when denim and trainers are acceptable apparel here. so you don‘t have to iron your Ben Sherman.

I Bughouse v. Syntax at The Renfrew

Well. they won't actually be boxing (we hope). but having DJed at the same events around town over the past couple of years. the Bughouse and Syntax crews have decided to battle it out at last.
