This fortnight infamous Glasgow dance music label Soma celebrate ten years rocking it. To celebrate this happy turn of events, we've asked Glenn Gibbons of Universal Principles to share with us just some of the records currently making his world a better place. Gibbons is one of the original partners in Soma and spotters amongst you will know that he was a co-writer on the original ‘Positive Education’ with SLAM.

Russ Gabriel: ‘We Will Be Turning’ (Ewan Pearson remix) (Out Of The Loop) Crisp production. sweeping. soulful vocals. live strings and a great bubbling bass line from Ewan (MAAS) Pearson. Another ace remix but when the fuck is he going to get his new album for SOMA done eh???

Charles Webster: ‘l Understand You’ (Wamdue Remix) (Peacefrog) The deepness continues in Wamdue land. Atmospheric vocals weaving in and out of shuffling beats. A cracker for late summer.

Inland Knights: ‘Steal The Feel’ (Drop Music) Check the cheeky Womack & Womack sample no royalties expected! There's no progression but it's a good middle of the night groover.

Common Factor: ‘Rise’ (SOMA) Recently poached from Planet E. Nick Callinghart brings his techy Chicago sound to SOMA. Running a second hand record store in Chicago as no surprise this features some classy lost soul samples.

Penn & Chus present: ‘Madrid With Love’ (Red Melon) A tougher percussive chugger with lots of lills to great effect. Dropping to chord stabs and cerebral sounds and then building right back.

Nick Holder: ‘Summer Daze’ (NRK) Another loved-up summer number, sampling Pat lvletheney's ‘Slip Away". Nick Holder delivers a gorgeous, filtered percussive builder for all you Latin lovers.

Universal Principals: ‘Latin Stroll’ (Silicone Soul remixes) (SOMA) lwo mixes nothing like the original, and all the better for it thanks guys! lougli minimal beats and trademark dubby bass squelch, building to a mad extended breakdown.
