A new edition of The List’s best-selling annual Eating & Drinking Guide will be published in April 2002 and we are looking for people to join our team who research and review restaurants in Edinburgh, Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

Yes, we mean what we say, we pay you to eat out. But it’s harder work than you might think.

You will need to have a flair for sharp concise prose, be thorough and accurate in conducting detailed research, be able to write knowledgeably on food and drink and be familiar with the restaurant scene

in central Scotland. You will also need to have access to email and the web, be computer literate and be available to work to tight deadlines in January, February and early March 2002. All work is on a freelance basis.

We have recently completed the first year of Sound Tracks! our ambitious 3-year music development programme and we are now seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual to deliver the next phase of the project.

Preferably educated to degree level you will be a musician or will have worked extensively with musicians. You will need excellent communication and project management skills to deliver a programme of residencies, a New Music Fellowship, workshops. seminars and master-classes in two musical areas: Traditional and Contemporary. You will be familiar with social inclusion principles and will have a working knowledge of developing projects with a wide range of age and interest groups in the community.

The post is full-time for 2-years. Applications on a job-share or freelance basis will be considered.

GMAC Ltd. is looking for a Manager for the Cineworks Short Film Production scheme initially for six months from December 2001 - June 2002

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years experience in film production and must be interested in developing new talent. The candidate must be a highly motivated individual with excellent editorial. communication and organisational skills. The post will involve overseeing the production of the presently commissioned films on budgets of £10,000- £15,000 and for organising the Training and Development Programme (March—June). securing finance and acting as Development Executive for the short-listed films.

The Glasgow Media Access Centre is an open access facility with a membership of 450 students. freelancers. unemployed. professionals. companies and community groups. GMAC runs three short film schemes (Cineworks. DigiCult and Little Pictures) and offers regular training courses. equipment and studio hire. and produces its own broadcast commissions and corporate and community videos. GMAC also offers New Deal and trainee placements. Cineworks has been running for three years and delivers six short films per year to Scottish Screen and the Film Council for exhibition at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and on BBC Scotland.
