The 50 photographs on display document the lives of the Mennonites. a non- conformist religious sect based in rural (‘anadian and Mexican colonies. Towell worked with the community throughout the 1990s. and this photographic essay provides a sympathetic account of this insular society.

Winner of the prestigious (‘harlotte Kohler Prize for the most promising artist in Holland and shortlisted for the 2001 (‘itibank Photography Prize. Hellen van Meene photographs young adolescent girls on the verge of womanhood. The exhibition features the Japan Series. portraits of Japanese girls which were shown at this year's Venice Biennale. Stella Ross-Craig t'ntil Sun It) Mar ( lnverleith House). Botanical drawings of British plants by Stella Ross-Craig. Born in 1906 in Aldershot of Scottish parents. Ross-(‘raig's career as a botanical artist started in 1929. working for the Royal Horticultural Society and the Royal Botanic (iardens. Kew. The drawings on display were selected by the artist herself. and none has ever been seen by the public before.
