The word ‘variety’ conjures up a few things: to some it’s the name of a fine watering hole on Sauchiehall Street, to others it means Johnnie Beattie and Una McLean giving it some in an old school music hall stylee. We at The List think variety is a damn good thing and the best place to find it this fortnight is at tripTych, three days of gigs, clubs and screenings where you can discover the true joys of Canadian techno, Japanese ambient minimalism, American free jazz or even just good-old Scottish pop.
