In Flame

by Charlotte Jones directed b Maggie Lovell

A delightfully quirky, earthy, tender and funny play , n Flame interweaves the lives of 2 women. one in London in the present and one in Yorkshire in 1908, combining wit with deep feeling as it moves through love to cartography via madness.

2O 22 June

A play about life and death, love and lust. guilt and hope and dreams and the whole damn thing. It has some of the best writing I have come across recently: vigorous. poetic and lethal funny, probing hearts with warmth. compassion and irony.‘ Sunday Times Tickets Tues f25/2 Wed-Sat 28/4 from Collins Gallery

by Dario F0 and Franca Rame translated by Margaret Kunzie and Stuart Hood

directed by Bruce Downie Rich, witty and challenging, these famous one-woman plays include comedies which deal with the unbearable events of everyday life and a tragedy that confronts the impossible, as it tears open the male perspective on the ancient Greeks. The tension at their heart lies in the tug between the grimness of the situation and the grotesque behaviour of men. Naturalism merges with slapstick as each woman finds the strength and COurage to assert herself. There is a point to be made. but it comes through entertainment: these women are rude. raucous and funny. F0 and Rame draw on the long tradition of Commedia dell'Arte and popular Italian political theatre. Tickets 28/4
