JIM MULLEN

Guitarist Jim Mu en has always had a strong populist streak running through his music. Morrissey-Mullen's brand of jazz-rock was an obvious example. as was his involvement in bands such as Kokomo. The organ trio is one of jazz's most populist formats. and provides an ideal outlet for his talents. combining scope for SOphisticated jazz improvisation with a funky. blues-rooted crossover appeal.

Jim is joined by London-based cohorts Jim Watson (organ) and Matt Skelton (drums). The Glasgow-bred guitarist is also featured on Live at Queen's. a new CD from a band he co-leads with trumpeter Henry Lowther. Email dsbutterfield@tiscali.co.uk for ordering details. (Kenny Mathieson)
