HOUSE: TRONICSOLE The Arches. Glasgow, Fri 1 Nov

Another Friday night, another Tronicsole. A dedication to deep, funky house music has seen this monthly night go from strength to strength, and this one should be one of the strongest yet. For DJ Buck is coming to town to take the headlining throne for the night.

Having released countless original tracks on various labels, Buck has earned a well-deserved reputation that stretches far and wide. He credits luck as a main component in his personal success story; the other predominant ingredient is talent. ‘All of my music is psychedelic to some degree,’ says Buck, an abbreviated alias for his given name, Kuyumptiwa Kopavi Grok. His self-described style, of ‘something old, something new, something me, something you’, is indicative of the fact that anyone can find his or her niche in his music.

Genre obsessed critics may pigeonhole Buck as strictly a house music producer, but connoisseurs

will recognise his complex sound as more eclectic and fused, completely lacking the ability to be placed in a single category. 80 what has he got up his musically delinquent sleeve for this night? ‘An eclectic mesh of sounds, blending unusual house with persuasive percussion and the occasional perfect vocal. I really like the concept of fusing things together and seeing what happens,’ he says. However, more importantly we can expect Buck to remain true to his influences and the sound that he has aimed to create. A hypnotic and unique blend of dance music. Prepare to have your head spun.
