Education, Culture 8: Sport Service Highland Council Public Art Project
Who: Artists and Musicians
What: To create new work as part of 40 day residencies for the development of the arts in schools and community buildings in the Highlands, Scotland. Two residency positions exist.
Details: Highland Council invites applications from individuals who would like to develop new work in Glen Urquhart as follows: Glen Urquhart High School 81 Community Buildings,
1. New Media Artist in residence. We are interested in one of the following: a film-maker, digital-imaging artist, video artist, installation artist, light artist spending 40 days working in the school and community. A legacy in terms of an artwork and/or performance will be an outcome of this commission.
2. Musician in residence. We are interested in a musician spending 40 days working in the school and community. A legacy in terms of a performance will be an expected outcome of this commission.
Fees: Works budget and living expenses £10,130 each commission.
A number of other commissions exist within this large strategic, pan-Highland project. At Glen Urquhart a new artwork commission is in progress. These two new commissions advertised here are running parallel; there is the potential for collaboration or a dynamic to be created.
