Marilyn Monroe and Clarke Gable were filming The Misfits (1960), the last film either of them made. when Eve Arnold photographed them on set. The photograph is made all the more poignant as Monroe died in her sleep (or so they say) two years later. This picture. along with 99 other key images spanning 150 years of photographs, is the subject of a major exhibition at the Dean Gallery. One Hundred Great Photographs was put together by one of the greatest newspaper picture editors of his generation, Bruce Bernard. and features some of the most iconic and unforgettable photographs of the past two centuries.
