They omplete’d'an inaugural tour of Highland venues in June with a mixed programme of music by Ellington and Mingus. culminating in a commission for the St Magnus Festival in Orkney. The band have also championed the work of European jazz musicians in the past, notably Florian Ross, and their appearance at the jazz festival this year will open up another new association in a programme which will include the music of Swedish composer Goran Strandberg. with saxophonist Joakim Milder as a special guest.
