Since leaving his job as a travel agent in the mid-80$, Trevor Rockcliffe has become a worldwide name, with residencies at Trade and Ultimate Base in London, and regular visits to Tresor (Berlin). the Flex club (Paris) and

various festivals around the globe.

The sound of Rockcliffe is a distinctive one: a fusion of rumbling base lines with classic Detoit strings and soulful vocals. Although DJing is his first love, since the birth of his label, Mentor, in 2000, Rockcliffe now spends a lot of time in the studio. His first release. ‘A Sound Called House‘, combines dark techno with uplifting house and disco influences, and received wide acclaim. His next project is an EP featuring Brazilian artist, Anderson Noise. As well as other works in progress, his plans for the rest of the year involve plenty of club gigs, something he always relishes.

So what does he think of us Scots? ‘I love playing in Scotland, I've been up there a lot over the years. The atmosphere in the techno tent at this year’s Coloursfest was brilliant. Scottish crowds are always really up for it.‘

Joining Glasgow boys Colin Davie and Gianni for the next instalment of Haptic, Rockcliffe promises a night of 'the funkiest techno there is'. Fresh from the nautical extravaganza that was Houseboat, the boys from Haptic will undoubtedly add some of their own genius to the occasion. “The crowd has grown every month and the atmosphere has been brilliant.
