BIRTHDAY SUB CLUB The Sub Club, Glasgow, 20—23 Nov

Cant-you bel'kve that Ralph Macchio (the Karate Kid for those of you who

don’t know) has just turned 40? If that doesn’t make you feel your age perhaps news that this weekend the Sub Club is celebrating its 17th birthday will. It’s a bit of a double whammy, as it’s also a year since the Subbie re- opened its doors and let the kids back in, and boy, are they gonna love this - a whole weekend of revelry to celebrate.

Festivities kick off on Thursday night with Instant Access. Residents Tiff Peaches and Groundskeeper will be joined by Harri, playing tunes that have kept the Subbie’s dancefloor packed for the past 17 years. On Friday Bughouse welcomes house music legend Ian Pooley to the fold for a night of jazz, disco, house, techno and whatever the hell he feels like. And if that’s still not enough, Mark Farina joins Harri and Domenic at Subculture on Saturday. Farina has played the Subbie before and anyone that caught him last time will know they’re in for a pretty amazing night.
