Gay editor Jane Hamilton cherry-picks the sweetest treats ahead

Oh. My. God. It's January 2004 and already there's plenty to look fOrward /

to in the year ahead. As always in the w

gay world it's a heady mix of theatre.

TV. music. film and performance.

But let's start where 2003 left off .. and that is with Fame Academy winner and baby dyke. Alex Parks.

The spiky haired lass will be back

with her follow up track Cry, which

will be released on 9 February. Other

musical highlights include Horse's UK

tour in February and March which

stops off at both Edinburgh and

Glasgow, and the gorge0us Pink kicking ass at the SECC on 31 March.

For all TV lovers there will be the new (or not so new if you have E4) series of the wonderful Six Feet Under, the quirky Will 8. Grace and the homoerotic 02. There is also a new Channel 4 documentary called Making Babies: The Gay Way, which will be screened on 15 & 22 January at 9pm. The programme follows several gay couples for a year, highlighting their experiences of trying to conceive and bring up families. It will also be screening the drama series Ange/s in America in March/April with an all star cast including Al Pacino. Meryl Street and Emma Thompson.

Boy George's musical. Taboo. will be at Glasgow's King's Theatre from 27—31 Jan and Edinburgh Festival Theatre from 1—6 March with stand-up comedian Mark Little in the role of Leigh Bowery. For film lovers, the London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival will return to the GFT and Filmhouse in June and July along with top notch gay and lesbian films throughout the rest of the year.

Pride Scotia took place in Edinburgh last year and the intention is to have it in Glasgow this year following the old Pride tradition. The award winning Glasgayl, on the other hand. will definitely be back for its 1 1th year with more divas. dance and dames. Bring it on. (Jane Hamilton)
