BOBBY CONN

Bobby Conn is a daftie. The low-rent, glam-rock Chicagoan visited these shores last year with just a boombox and a karaoke machine, and spent more time in the crowd than on stage. This time round he’s accompanied by backing band the Glass Gypsies, a motley crew who share Conn’s love of theatrics, sleaze and silliness, so expect a full-on rock apocalypse of a show. Conn’s recent album, Homeland, was a surprisingly political rant, raging against his own government primarily, but live the emphasis is firmly on flamboyant fun so pack your feather boa and be ready for some

high camp antics. (Doug Johnstone)
