Which time in history would you have loved to have lived? And why?

In another time. another place. Mozart would have been part of an interesting Crowd. l'm drawn to the elegance of that era, in particular. the wigs. What a relief to not have to dye your hair and blow it straight for every performance.

Your house is on fire, loved ones and pets, etc are safe, you have a chance to go and retrieve one thing, what would it be?

family photo albums. As long as you always have a sense of your past. and you have smiles and years to look back on, you WI” have a place to start again. Memories have strength and healing qualities: they are imprinted in your mind and always stay in your heart. What was the last thing you stole?

If you could wake up tomorrow and have obtained one ability what would it be?

I'm sure this won't be a stock 'lvts World' answer, but it's truthful ant' Sincere. I'd like to be able to stop a thief or con man in his tracks. look him dead in the eye and say. 'Not today or any other day. Think about y0ur actions and be on your way.‘

How often do you look in the mirror?

Not as much as I used to but vanity is a necessny in this business, I'm afraid.

If you could quit your job and start afresh tomorrow, what would you choose to do?

I could never not sing. so I'd have to add that to my job description. But, for a complete change of pace. I'd like to go back to a kinder. gentler time and own a fleet of milkman van—floats. I'd love to clink my way down a cobbled street and swap kind words and a song wrth people I meet.

What’s your favourite biscuit?

Digestive. The best tea dunking biSCtiit.

What song would you hate to be played at your funeral?

'Here comes the Bride' w0uldn't be very appropriate. Who would you like to play you in a film of your life? Who do you actually think would play you?

Tom Jones. He's a COuple of years younger and has walked a similar path but seriously, it seems that Johnny Depp can do anything he puts his mind too. Can you cook? What’s your signature dish?

It's not my cup of tea. but if I'm forced to whip something up it woold be a cheddar cheese sandWich, toasted and delicately dipped in a good cuppa.

When did you last cry?

Probably my daughter's last but one boyfriend. What’s the longest you’ve ever pursued a woman for? And was it successful or not? Seven years and I'd say it worked. We are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary this year.

Have you ever exploited your position as a star to get something? Did you get the results you hoped for?

Yes and yes! The best star treatment was at Disneyland fOr one of my children's birthdays. We took a private tOur guide through the park. skipped all the lines by going through tunnels and back doors which was almost as eXCiting as some of the rides. It was one of those days that I would save if I had the chance to go back into my burning home.
