I Dlrty Thursdays at Blanket. llpm—3am. £5 (£3). Weekly. Get deep down and dirty as Raymond Woods and Naeem mix up some of the most bootylicious R&B in the city. while Billy Milligan serves up the student classics and dirty po tunes.

I DogGo at Q Bar. 10.30pm—3am. £2. Weekly. Night of eclecticism at the beautiful club under Corinthian. It was closed for ages but now they're getting back into the groove. Pure class.

I IVII at Barfly. 10.30pm—3am. £2. Weekly. Goth. industrial. punk and metal meet at this black-clad happening.

I Pantasthue at MAS. llpm—3am. £4 (£3). Weekly. The vernacular DJ Mirrorbaw plays a friendly brand of pop- fused house for a Thursday night crowd looking for kicks. Purse-friendly drinks Erices make this night a good draw.

Ian and Stevie man the box. so all insecurities over the tunes are dispelled. This night aims at student satisfaction without compromising the uality levels.

Hype at Cube. 1 1.30pm—3am. £3 (£2). Weekly. Jim Da Best teams up with the Hype crew to put on a night of twisted. ultra-funky house. Plenty of cheap booze makes this a fun night out. I Instant Access at Sub Club. 10.30pm—3am. Free before midnight; £2 after. Weekly. They‘re putting on the ‘Carnaval de Futebol‘ tonight at the instant Access. There‘s live samba from Bateria de Carnaval. capoeira from Groupa Senzala and other music from Tiff Peaches and Groundskeeper Glenn C. Clubbing and sartorial self-respect used to go hand in hand in Glasgow. The big clubs used to be synonymous with fashion awareness, or at least with people who tried their best and outlald a bit of cash on their outfits. For one reason or another today’s club queues Just don’t have the same sparkle, which Is why Mansion House seems like a return to normality for the city’s well dressed clubbing diaspora. Clothing emporium Cruise is teaming up with the Corinthian and a host of swanky DJs (including l-larrl, Huggy and the Moneypenny's crew from down south) for a

night of well-cut, well heeled revelry.

From top to bottom, you can tell that people have spent a lot of time and money designing this night. Promoter Darren Laurie thinks that Glasgow has been missing this kind of club: ‘We haven't had a club with an attitude like this since the days when the Tunnel was at the top. It’s going to be a beautiful crowd In the most beautiful venue in Glasgow. The attitude is that we want the whole of the city’s funky crowd to congregate here.’

I Sklnt at the Cathouse. l lpm—3am. £4 (£2). Weekly. A night that reflects the resurgent alternative scene at the moment. Rock. indie and some tough chemical breaks and beats. with a crowd much like the one you see outside the Gallery of Modern Art.

I Speakeasy at the Universal (Sauchiehall Lane). l()pm—2am. Free. Weekly. If you feel like a few drinks after the pub. but don't want to go clubbing. Speakeasy is for you. The music ain't compromised. but the vibe is chilled.
