BRENDON BURNS

1 He’s a brave lad Never afraid to take a chance or two with his act. this year the Wild man of 02 comedy (well. yOu w0u|d seem wrld too. if you came from Adam Hills' land) split himself down the middle. dOing one half of the show as Brendon. the other as Burnsy. The critics were less diVided though. almost each and every one thinking he was really rather terrific. Though maybe coming on stage Slllglttg Cameo's 'Word Up' is perhaps the most c0urage0us thing he's ever done.

2 He has friends in high places One of 88's biggest showbiz churns is Ed Byrne. with whom he shared a stage back in 1997 as they played two struggling stand—ups in their comic play entitled The Act. Things have changed a bit for the pair. of course. with Ed

doing all those phone ads and starring in a sitcom with Davrna McCall. Meanwhile. Brendon has learned not to shout quite so much.

3 He’s a cheeky chappy Don't let the wild man of 02 comedy (well. you would seem . . . etcetera) thing fool you. He's a cuddly bunny wrth a heart of

4 He’s terribly democratic Male/female. black/white. gay/straight. heckler/wallflower: no one is safe from Burnsy's fireworks.

5 He has good taste He is quoted on the Chortle website singing the praises of Reg D Hunter. Even if it appears to be more about the Georgia comic's lovemaking than comic ability. (Brian Donaldson)
