The inexorable rise of Feeder from third on the bill apologists

to arena fillers would perplex the most scholarly of musicologists if it wasn’t for just on thing: singles. Unlike other Brit rock underdogs such as Muse and Idlewild, Feeder have been unable to gather together a solid album’s worth of material on five attempts but have hit paydirt with catchier than chicken pox singles like ‘Buck Rogers’, ‘Just the way I’m Feeling’ and ‘Come Back Around’. And on rock’n’roll’s vertiginous see-saw, sometimes that is just enough to

succeed.
