One day he’s talking about environmental justice and a sustainable Scotland, the next he’s giving the go ahead to a £500 million plan to bulldoze the M74 motorway through the southside of Glasgow. Something doesn’t add up.
Why is his best solution to Glasgow’s transport problems just a re°-hash of discredited 1960’s planning? The M74 will not relieve Glasgow’s congestion problems, will worsen air and noise pollution, and won’t help the 59% of Glasgow’s households with no car. So why is the M74 to be built when the recent public inquiry revealed Jack’s job claims as pure fantasy?
