DEGREE SHOWS are the climax of every art student’s college life. The last four years have been building to this showcase of ideas, application and talent. Ruth Hedges and David Pollock meet students from Glasgow School of Art, Edinburgh College of Art and Napier University to find out what they’ve been up to and where

I'm trying to bring a natural look to what are essentially man-made materials.‘ Although she is inspired by the traditionally hand-raised pieces she has found in museums and natural forms such as flowers. she describes her work as organic. the finished shapes only coming to her as she raises them. These sci-ti looking silver rooms are BAE Systems' Environmental Testing Chambers. Best has spent the last seven months getting access to photograph the spaces that test components for military defence systems near the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. The clinical look of these chambers with

wires and tubes is in tension with the potential havoc 5 the products can wreak. 'I want people to get a
