Patrick Elliott, curator of the Gallery of Modern Art’s 2003 Boyle Family exhibition,
commemorates the life and work of the Mark Boyle, who died in May. For this exhibition the family replicated patches of randomly selected ground in mind-blowingly intricate detail, compelling viewers to get right up close to the blocks of fibre glass to check they hadn’t just dug up the
areas and stuck them on the wall.

What made you want to start a model agency?
I worked as a model for ten years in Scotland with a lot of inspiring and talented individuals. Last year I was approached by my current business partners who were very enthusiastic about starting a model agency in Edinburgh. As there were no other model agencies here at that time we thought that it was a perfect time to launch Stolen.
So, we’re a pretty good looking nation then?
It depends what you would class as good looking. Some oi our models have a classic look; whereas others are more unique or interesting. What we pride Ourselves on is not only their look but their characters. personalities and work ethic.
What’s the best bit about the job?
Definitely the people. The models. photographers. stylists. make-up artists and hair stylists straight thr0ugh to our clients. They've all been a joy to work with.
And the worst?
Touch wood. everything's been great so far. It can be hard when we decide not to take on some of our applicants. We get a lot of young and motivated individuals approaching us for work, but they are sadly often not what we're looking for.
Any particularly glamorous moments so far?
Not any one in particular. but we really enjoyed supplying some of our make-up artists for the performers and speakers the (38 concert at Murrayfield Stadium. Plans for the future?
To keep producing great work and to ensure that our models and team are always growing and developing.
What would you do on your ideal day off?
A picnic in Mons in the South of France with my husband tloyd.
