at With 25,000 tickets for T in the Park already sold, work is afoot to expand the festival even further. The capacity was increased this year to 69,000 and DF Concerts head honcho Geoff Ellis has said he’d like to take it up to 100,000 over the next five years, making it the Glasto of the north.
tilt Elbow have a new album called Leaders of the Free World out on 5 September and. in a fit of technological wizardry. they have collaborated with Soup Collective to make a DVD of visuals to accompany the music. A special screening of the album is being held at King Tut’s on Monday 25 July. Members of the band will present and answering questions about the making of the album and DVD afterwards. Doors open at 7pm and tickets are first come. first served.
While some bands spend every waking hour traversing the country in search of audiences, it is less common to hear of jukeboxes doing the same. The contents of this travelling jukey have been chosen by musicians and DJs like Tom Middleton, FC Kahuna and Trevor Jackson.
