MDes Interdisciplinary Design

The MDes Interdisciplinary Design course at Napier University

is offered as a | year full-time or 2 year part-time programme.

The programme is designed in recognition of the fact that there are rapid changes in contemporary design praxis. Design is evolving, and the edges between former specialisms are blurring. The interdisciplinary nature of modern design is illustrated best by the work of designers such as Hella Jongerius, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec and

Thomas Heatherwick.

This course is orientated towards individuals who are either embarking upon, or in the early stages of, a design career and offers a mix

of learning, teaching and assessment methods which balance the acquisition of knowledge and skills in different design contexts

(e.g. consumer product design. furniture, packaging and branding).

You should have an Honours degree in a related subject or other equivalent qualifications or experience.
