The latest club news

If you’re quick, you can catch a unique offer at the Sub Club’s new Thursday nighter. They are so sure of the quality of their night, Homebrew with resident Tiff Peaches and rolling residents Boom Monk Ben, Pro Vinylist Karim and Windmills, they are offering you £5 to come in on 22 September. That’s right they pay you to get in, a genuine fiver, so no excuses people.

Falkirk Town Hall is hosting the Way to Blue festival of music in October featuring the likes of Teenage Fanclub and Trashcan Sinatras. But for clubbers there are a couple of key events. Soma are putting on another of their workshop and education days, Some Skool (5 October) while the Sonia crew return (or a Slam party featuring Slain (obviOusly). Alex Smoke (pictured) and Hystereo (8 October).

Red (Edinburgh) are holding a set of DJ championships from 16—23 October with a trip to New York for two as the final grand prize. There are six nights involved and there are six music styles to go with them (techno, funk & hip hop, progressive, house, electro and drum & bass). We Are . . . Electric, Ultragroove, Taste, Manga, UFreak and Motherfunk are the club names involved, winners of each heat not only go onto the grand final but also win a guest slot at that night. So tailor your mix to the club that you want to play and send a half-hour tape/CD/mini disc to Red, 73 Cowgate, EH1 1JW by no later than 10 October, including your name, email, phone number and the category you wish to enter.
