NVA. the festival organiser. has pulled together artists to flood the squares and alleyways with light. music and filtn. DI“ (‘oncerts will he looking after the music. with lighting designers Dave Bryant. Simon (‘order and Nich Stnith crossing light sahres over the metropolis. Katrina Brown. curator at Dundee Contemporary Art. has organised the visttal an element. which forms a solid core to this saturnalia.
The work ranges from lighting design treatments for facades of buildings to large sculptural installations and single-screen video projections. So will these illuminations he destinations in themselves or atnhient creations , experienced in passing'.’ ‘There are many ways ‘ gm. into and through the festival.. says Brown. ‘Some V t of the pieces will he so large and imposing that they'll he umnissahle. so that anyone passing will be drawn in and will look for more. We've positioned the pieces quite carefully. just as you would with a gallery-hased exhihition. though ohviously with tnore practical challenges.’
The exhihition will open up the sometimes seemingly impenetrahle art world to the streets. creating exhilarating challenges for the artists and the public alike.
